The Beatles Murals
Abbey Road Street Mural

A fantastic opportunity to become John, Paul, George or Ringo. The Abbey Road album cover backdrop was painted by Paul Curtis in a commission with The Beatles Story Museum, Liverpool.

The mural is located on Grafton Street on the side of the Cains Brewery in Liverpool's famous Baltic Triangle area. The mural features a ground painting of the famous zebra crossing in order to perfect the interactive art feature.

Johnny Goggles Mural

Painted in June 2019 on the roller shutters of Johnny Goggles opticians on North John Street in Liverpool city centre.  The location means that John looks down Mathew Street, where it all began for the Beatles.

I am a big fan of John Lennon and The Beatles so I always enjoy painting Beatles murals, even though this one was a challenge as the ribbed contours of roller shutters are a difficult surface to work with. I must have around 6 or 7 Beatles murals around the city now.

The mural replaces the original that was painted by the lads from Belfast in 2007. That mural had sadly deteriorated so badly that it was unable to be saved. The original artists could not repaint it so Sefton council kindly gave me the honour. The John Lennon mural, on the house next to it, can be saved and I will be repairing and cleaning it this week.

Paul McCartney Mural

Another addition to the ever-growing Beatles-themed murals across Liverpool. Paul McCartney and his camera are located right below Paul's Baby Ethan mural.

This mural has been painted for @abbeyroadliverpool and @dwntwnliverpool on Harrington Street.

Not many people know that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison & Ringo Starr were the first reserves for the Apollo 11 moon landings. No photos exist, so I have done my best to capture how they may have looked.

These murals adorn the walls of @spacedoutsefton in Lathom Hall, Seaforth, Liverpool, where the Beatles took residency in 1960.

John & Paul Mural

"There beneath the blue suburban skies"

John and Paul hanging out on Penny Lane in the early days, fresh from Hamburg. This mural is a collaboration with the Penny Lane Development Trust.

This mural was a challenge for Paul considering the weather conditions.  A key feature of the mural is how Paul has managed to make the gate threshold disappear, an under-appreciated skill that one.

Beneath the sub skies
Harrison's Bar Mural

George Harrison. The Quiet One and the Mystic. George was the youngest of the Beatles but grew to hold his own besides the genius of Lennon and McCartney.

Many of the later Beatles' hits were George Harrison's solo compositions, such as, Here Comes the Sun, Something, Whilst My Guitar Gently Weeps and Old Brown Shoe. George was tragically taken from us far too early and, as with John Lennon, is sadly missed.

This mural was painted at Harrison's Bar on Liverpool's North John Street, by Paul Curtis, in January 2021. The artwork is particularly tricky as it is on roller shutters, so the surface is not flat! It was also freezing cold!

Abbey Road / Victoria Street Beatles Mural

The 50th Anniversary of The Beatles' Abbey Road album led to a flurry of Abbey Road album covers popping up all over the world.  Not more than 2 weeks after the Baltic Triangle Abbey Road Mural was painted, then this one appeared at Harrison's bar in Liverpool.

This particular Abbey Road mural has a twist, however, in that it is not Abbey Road at all.  If you look closely, you will see that John, Paul, George and Ringo are actually on Victoria Street in Liverpool.  The Beatles seem to be gasping for a pint at Harrisons!

Completed in March 2019 at Harrison's Bar on North John Street, Liverpool.

This mural was initially just John Lennon, but he was looking a bit isolated so the Liver Building was added in afterwards. The mural is looking much more complete now. This piece is located at Harrison's Bar, along with the Abbey Road mural.

Baltic Market Beatles mural

The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Mural at Baltic Market in the Baltic Triangle, LiverpoolJohn LennonPaul McCartneyGeorge Harrison and Ringo Starr all looking colourful and resplendent in their military uniform.

Independent Liverpool commissioned this piece for the popular Baltic Market venue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album.  The fab four wear the uniforms but the cartoon style lends heavily from the Yellow Submarine film (the Blue Meanies and the Nowhere Man make a sneaky appearance too!).

Unfortunately, this mural is no more as of 2023. However, prints can still be purchased of this mural.
